Cal State San Bernardino's Devyn Hernandez has been selected as the NCBWA West Region Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 4-10.
 
Hernandez would make two crucial appearances for the Coyotes as they made their way to a CCAA Tournament title, totaling 10.1 innings pitched across the tournament en route to being named the Most Valuable Pitcher.
 
Hernandez would make the start in the Coyotes' first-round playoff game against Cal State LA, throwing 8.2 innings in the 12-4 victory. He struck out 11 batters, while allowing four runs on eight hits with a pair of walks. Hernandez would then collect his second win of the tournament, and fifth of the season, in the championship game against Cal Poly Pomona. He entered with two runners on in the eighth and proceeded to get a ground ball double play to escape the jam. He followed with a scoreless ninth to seal the Coyotes' first CCAA Tournament Championship since 2002. His 1.2 innings of scoreless relief allowed the Coyotes to break a 6-6 tie in the top of the ninth on their way to a 9-6 victory.
 
Hernandez would hold a 3.48 ERA over 10.1 tournament innings and strike out 12 batters.
