ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State LA are heading to the NCAA postseason after hearing their names called on the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, Mar. 8.
Cal Poly Pomona (25-4) earned the No. 3 seed, and Cal State LA (24-6) is the No. 5 seed.
Central Washington will serve as the host after going 23-6 while playing in the GNAC.
Cal Poly Pomona will face Azusa Pacific (23-9) in the first round. This will be the second meeting of the year between the teams. CPP fell to the Cougars in their second game of the season, 54-53. This is Cal Poly Pomona's fourth consecutive NCAA postseason appearance.
Cal State LA will take on the No. 4 seed, Vanguard, which won the PacWest regular-season and tournament titles. The two teams have not played this season. The Golden Eagles will be making their third NCAA regional appearance in the last four seasons.
The NCAA West Regional will begin Friday, March 13, in Ellensburg, Wash.
