Cal State LA volleyball will begin the season ranked No. 1 in the AVCA national polls. The Golden Eagles, who are coming off the 2023 NCAA Championship, return three starters and 10 letterwinners, including the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament, Emily Elliott.
 
Two other CCAA teams appeared on the preseason top 25 list. Cal State San Bernardino was listed at No. 8, and Cal Poly Pomona ranked No. 21. San Francisco State was also listed as the Gators are among the 'other teams receiving votes.'
 
Cal State LA earned 33 of the 47 first-place votes to collect 1,113 points and finish atop the preseason poll. It is the first time in program history the Golden Eagles have started the season at No. 1.
