SF State's Tamiya Wilson Named AVCA National DII Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO Tamiya Wilson of San Francisco State volleyball was named the AVCA Division II National Player of the Week on October 29. 

Wilson posted another great week, helping the Gators pick up two more conference wins. She had 22 kills in each match—for a 6.09 kills per set average—to go with a 7.5 points per set average. The junior also had six aces and hit .354 on the week. This is her second AVCA Division II Player of the Week award, as she also earned it last September. Click here to see the complete AVCA release

In Thursday's match against Cal State Dominguez Hills, Wilson posted a 2024 CCAA three-set match-best 22 kills. She had only four errors in the set as she recorded a .529 hitting percentage in the win.  

Against Cal State LA, Wilson again had 22 kills and four aces as the Gators defeated the No. 22 team and moved past them in the national standings. She added four aces and two blocks to post 27 points in the four-set match. 

Wilson is ranked fifth in the CCAA and 19th in NCAA Div. II with 4.12 kills per set.
