Hung P. Tsai promoted to CCAA Director of Championships

Jun 30, 2023

Hung P. Tsai has been promoted to the CCAA's Director of Championships beginning July 1, announced conference commissioner Mitch Cox.

Tsai will move into a full-time position and take on an elevated role in administration of the 13 CCAA Championships and oversight of the second-year Athletic Development Leadership Internship. He will also continue to assist in all parts of the CCAA Communications for the 12 member-institutions in the conference.

"Hung has proven over his career to be hard-working, organized, and detail-oriented," said retiring CCAA Commissioner Mitch Cox. "He has improved every aspect of our championships since taking over as coordinator two years ago in just a part-time role. This move back to full-time warrants the job title change, and the CCAA will continue to benefit from his vast experience."

Tsai joined the CCAA in August 2021 as the Coordinator of Championships and served two academic years in that role.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the CCAA in this new capacity," said Tsai. "As a part of this great staff, I look forward to further enhance the championship experiences for our members in the best conference in Division II."

Tsai has spent over two decades in service to the CCAA and its member-institutions, most recently as the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications and Marketing at Stanislaus State since 2007. In that capacity, he oversaw the marketing of Warrior Athletics, along with game management and day-to-day responsibilities for the 14-sport athletics program. He initially joined the conference while working at his alma mater Humboldt State (1997).
