SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.  - Cal State LA swung hard and kept the errors down to knock off the No. 1 seed Chaminade and earn the program's third consecutive appearance in the NCAA West Regional. (Dec. 1)

The Golden Eagles ground out a 25-23 win in set 1 to take the early lead. Their physicality caught up with the Silverswords more as the match advanced to earn 25-18 and 25-19 wins in sets two and three, respectively.

Cal State LA held Chaminade to a season-low .078 hitting percentage while it committed only 14 errors (Silverswords had 24). The Golden Eagles play an aggressive style of offense, and when they are on, they are as tough to beat as anyone in the country. Tonight, after figuring it out early, they were on. It all came together in the second set, where CSLA had only one swinging error while CUH committed 11.

That momentum carried over to the third set, where Cal State LA had 12 kills and only five errors, compared to 10 and 7 for Chaminade. The Golden Eagles went up 11-6 on a kill from Eliza Cannon, and the Silverswords would never get closer than four the rest of the way.

Emily Elliott had a match-high 12 kills to lead Cal State LA. Iane Henke posted nine kills and 14 digs to go with three aces. Jameson Sanders closed out the first two sets on service aces and finished the match with four total. Sophie Schilling led Chaminade with eight kills.

Cal State LA will advance to the regional championship match on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.
