Cal Poly Pomona enters 2026 seeking its third straight CCAA regular-season title after going 17-1 in conference play and 19-6 overall last season. The Broncos put together a 17-match winning streak and went nearly two months without a loss on their way to becoming back-to-back regular-season champions for the first time in program history.  Cal Poly Pomona will begin 2026 receiving votes in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Preseason Poll.

Cal State San Bernardino was picked second after collecting the program's seventh CCAA Tournament Championship. The Coyotes finished second in the regular-season standings with a 15-3 conference record before defeating Cal State East Bay and San Francisco State to claim the tournament championship. CSUSB has now won seven of the 10 CCAA Volleyball Tournaments that have been played. The tournament title sent Cal State San Bernardino back to the NCAA West Regional, where the Coyotes pushed the top-seed before finishing the season 22-6. CSUSB enters 2026 ranked No. 25 in the AVCA Division II Preseason Poll.

Cal State LA received two first-place votes and was selected third after also finishing third in the CCAA standings last season with a 13-5 conference record (17-9 overall). The Golden Eagles have remained among the conference's top programs since winning the 2023 NCAA Championship and once again spent much of last season in contention for an NCAA postseason berth.

Fresno Pacific will enter its first season in the CCAA with plenty of momentum after completing the best NCAA-era season in program history. The Sunbirds went 27-2 overall and 11-1 in PacWest play in 2025, sharing the regular-season title before winning the PacWest Tournament Championship. Fresno Pacific advanced all the way to the NCAA West Region championship match before falling to Point Loma. The Sunbirds opened last season with 23 consecutive victories and rose as high as No. 9 nationally before their NCAA Tournament run. Fresno Pacific is ranked No. 11 in the 2026 AVCA DII Preseason Poll as it enters the season with the highest ranking of any CCAA program.

Stanislaus State was picked fifth after going 11-7 in CCAA play last season. The Warriors have now qualified for back-to-back CCAA Tournaments, including their historic run to the program's first tournament championship in 2024. Stan State entered last year's postseason as the No. 4 seed.

San Francisco State follows closely in sixth after another memorable postseason run. The Gators entered the 2025 CCAA Tournament as the No. 5 seed and knocked off Stanislaus State in five sets before stunning top-seeded Cal Poly Pomona, 3-2, in the semifinals. That sent SFSU to the CCAA Tournament championship match for the first time in program history. The run came one year after the Gators captured the NCAA West Region title and advanced to the 2024 NCAA Championship match.

Cal State East Bay was selected seventh with 130 points, just one behind San Francisco State. The Pioneers also made noise in the 2025 postseason, entering the CCAA Tournament as the No. 6 seed and defeating third-seeded Cal State LA, 3-1, to advance to the semifinals.

Cal State Monterey Bay was voted eighth, while Cal State San Marcos, Cal State Dominguez Hills and Chico State occupy spots 9-11. Just four points separate the three teams in the preseason voting. Cal Poly Humboldt followed in 12th.

UC Merced and Menlo College tied for 13th with 33 points. UC Merced enters its second season competing on a CCAA volleyball schedule, while Menlo begins its first year in the conference after going 9-16 overall and 4-8 in its final PacWest season.

Fresno Pacific and Menlo officially joined the CCAA on July 1, 2026, expanding the conference to a historic high of 14 institutions and bringing the volleyball field to 14 programs. The CCAA Volleyball Tournament will also expand to seven teams this season and will be played Nov. 10-14 at Pioneer Gym on the campus of Cal State East Bay.

The 2026 volleyball season kicks off Thursday, Aug. 27, with multiple CCAA programs in action. Cal Poly Pomona opens against Vanguard in San Bernardino, while Fresno Pacific will begin its first season as a CCAA member at home. Conference action begins in September as teams begin the road toward the seven-team CCAA Tournament.
