ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Six CCAA volleyball programs were recognized for their achievements in the classroom with the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award.
 
Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State San Marcos, San Francisco State and Stanislaus State earned the honor after maintaining a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.
 
SF State led the conference’s repeat recipients by earning the award for the 10th consecutive season and the 11th time in the past 12 years. Cal Poly Pomona collected its seventh straight honor, Stanislaus State received its fourth consecutive award, and Cal State East Bay and Cal State San Marcos were recognized for the third year in a row. Cal State Monterey Bay returned to the list of recipients after previously earning the honor in 2023-24.
 
The six CCAA programs were among 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams to receive the award. The AVCA has presented the Team Academic Award since the 1992-93 academic year to recognize programs demonstrating excellence in the classroom.
 
“We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs,” said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon.
