Six CCAA student-athletes collected AVCA All-American honors for the 2022 season, and Cal State LA's Iane Henke was named the Division II Freshman of the Year.
Daisy Duke represented Cal Poly Pomona and the CCAA on the All-American first team. It was Duke's second consecutive All-American selection as she was named to the third team in 2021.
Cal State LA's Emily Elliott was voted a second team All-American. Iane Henke (Cal State LA), Lydia Morohunfola (Cal State San Bernardino), Caitie Mueller (Cal Poly Pomona), and Jen Trephan (Sonoma State) each earned Honorable Mention.
Iane Henke became Cal State LA's first-ever AVCA Freshman of the Year and the first for the CCAA, according to available AVCA records. The Ulm, Germany native helped lead Cal State LA to the CCAA regular-season title and the NCAA West Region Championship. She ranked 12th in NCAA Division II with 62 service aces and was fifth in the CCAA in total kills (332). Henke posted two double-doubles in the west regional and finished with 33 kills, 32 digs, 10 blocks, and five aces.
Emily Elliott has helped the 24-6 Golden Eagles reach the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2005, which was also the last time Cal State LA won the CCAA regular-season title. She came up big in the West Regional with 49 kills, 21 digs, and seven aces in eight sets. The sophomore from Costa Mesa was third in the CCAA in points per set (4.26). She leads the team with 352 kills and 413 points
The multitalented
Daisy Duke continued adding to her legacy with a superb junior season, during which she ranks in the top 25 nationally in both points and kills per set. She became the Broncos' second CCAA Player of the Year and is in the top three at the school in career hitting percentage (.331) and kills-per-set average (3.37).
Lydia Morohunfola was a force in the middle all season for Cal State San Bernardino. She helped CSUSB lead the conference in opponent hitting percentage (.162) and rank third in team hitting percentage (.246). The senior ranked third in the NCAA with a .413 hitting percentage and fourth in blocks per set (1.01).
Jen Trephan was an all-around player for Sonoma State and proved her value on the Seawolves' run to the CCAA title game, which helped them earn their first berth in the NCAA West Regional since 2017. The junior setter/right-side hitter ranked in the top 10 in the CCAA in assists (7th), digs (8th), and blocks (10th).
Caitie Mueller was selected as the CCAA Newcomer of the Year, along with her All-American honorable mention. The sophomore setter led the conference in total assists (1,036) and was second in assists per set (10.16). She earned all-tournament honors as she helped guide CPP to the CCAA Tournament Championship and into the semifinals of the NCAA West Regional.
The 2022 class includes 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams—from 29 schools. Alaska Anchorage, Concordia-St. Paul and Wayne State (NE) each had two First-Team All-Americans, and Northwest Missouri State led all schools with three players on the first three teams.

The quarterfinals of the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship gets underway Thursday, Dec. 1, which is also the day the AVCA will announce the National Player, Coach, and Assistant Coach of the Year winners.
