Cal State San Marcos captures its seventh straight CCAA Women's Golf Championship

STOCKTON, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos won its seventh straight CCAA Women’s Golf Championship, claiming the title by 35 strokes on The Reserve at Spanos Park. (Apr. 22)
 
CSUSM’s Abby Sickles began the tournament with eight consecutive birdies, and she carried that hot start to the 2026 individual championship. It was the sixth time in seven seasons that the individual winner came from Cal State San Marcos.
 
Cal State San Marcos was consistent through the three-day tournament. It posted a 287 (-1) in the first round, a 298 (+10) during a rainy and delayed second round, before closing out with a 302 (+14) in the final round. After each round, CSUSM increased its lead and won with an 887 (+23). Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State LA tied for second with 922s (+58).
 
Sickles won the individual championship with a 1-under 215. She set the tournament record with a 66 (-6) in the first round, and followed it up with rounds of 74 (+2) and 75 (+3). Her teammate Ellaclair Leedom made a push for the individual title, as she registered a 216 (E) to finish just one stroke off the lead.
 
Avery Foster gave Cal State San Marcos three golfers in the top 5. The senior placed fourth with a 227 (+11) to claim all-tournament honors. The final two all-tournament selections went to Cal State LA’s Joshlyn Ayala (third, 220) and Cal State Monterey Bay’s Audrey Cheng (fifth, 228).  
 
With the tournament win, Cal State San Marcos earns the CCAA’s automatic bid to the NCAA West Regional (May 4-6).
