ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - After putting together a nearly perfect record in CCAA play, Cal Poly Pomona dominated the CCAA individual awards and the 2025 Volleyball All-CCAA team.
Sarah Ybarra was named the CCAA Player of the Year, and
Traci Dahl was voted the CCAA Coach of the Year.
Kacie Caoili captured Setter of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors.
Elle Walker was selected as Newcomer of the Year.
The only individual award not captured by CPP was Libero of the Year, which went to Cal State East Bay's
Kale'a Kuamo'o.
Sarah Ybarra was an offensive force throughout the season for Cal Poly Pomona. The junior opposite side hitter led the CCAA and ranked second in NCAA Division II with 5.06 kills per set and 5.62 points per set. She earned five FloCollege/CCAA Offensive Player of the Week awards and set a CCAA-record with 45 kills in a match. The La Habra, Calif., native registered double-digit kills in all 17 matches, including going over 20 kills seven times. This is the second consecutive season a Bronco has been named CCAA Player of the Year, and the third time in the last four seasons.
Cal State East Bay's
Kale'a Kuamo'o becomes just the second Pioneer student-athlete to earn a CCAA individual award in volleyball, joining Suzy Ni Xu from 2012 (Newcomer). Kuamo'o collected CCAA Libero of the Year honors after pacing the conference with 4.70 digs per set and ranking second in service aces (41). She was a two-time FloCollege/CCAA Defensive Player of the Week and had 10 matches with 20 or more digs. She was even better in CCAA play, where she upped her digs to 4.82 per set.
Kacie Caoili made an immediate impact in her first season wearing the CPP Green & Gold. The setter from San Jose averaged 10.85 assists per set to lead the CCAA and rank 16th in NCAA Division II. She averaged 1.74 more assists per set than the second-place finisher, and did it all as a freshman. She was a three-time FloCollege/CCAA Setter of the Week, and she recorded 11 matches with 40 or more assists, including a career-high 58 assists in a win over Cal State San Bernardino. Caoili is the third Bronco to receive Setter of the Year honors, joining Kira Zimmerman (2021) and Nicoletta Stork (2015).
Elle Walker redshirted for Cal Poly Pomona in 2024 before stepping into a role with the Broncos in 2025. She ranked fourth in the CCAA in kills per set (3.83) and was fifth in points per set (4.04). The Brentwood, Calif., native posted double-digit kills in 17 of 23 matches, including a 34-kill match against Cal State East Bay, which was the second-most in any CCAA match this year. Cal Poly Pomona student-athletes have won the last two CCAA Newcomer of the Year awards (Charlotte Koerber), three of the previous four (Caitie Mueller).
Traci Dahl led Cal Poly Pomona to a 17-1 record in conference play to capture back-to-back CCAA regular-season titles for the first time in program history. The Broncos dominated the stats, leading the conference in assists per set (13.16), digs per set (16.69), kills per set (14.44), and hitting percentage (.240). CPP won 17 consecutive matches and did not lose for a two-month stretch. Cal Poly Pomona will enter the CCAA Tournament presented by Under Armour as the No. 1 seed.
Each of the individual award winners also collected first-team all-conference honors. Cal Poly Pomona led with four All-CCAA selections, and Cal State LA placed three on the first team. Cal State East Bay also had a pair of first-team honorees.
Walker, Ybarra, Caoili, and Kuamo'o were joined on the first team by
Barakat Adekola (Cal State East Bay),
Zuhal Cetin (Cal State LA),
Samarah DaCoud (Cal State LA),
Aidan Goodrich (SF State),
Charlotte Koerber (Cal Poly Pomona),
Ayjah Landers (Cal State LA),
Kacie Pedersen (Cal State San Bernardino), and
Christallynn Tate (Stanislaus State).
The all-conference awards are announced on the brink of the CCAA Volleyball Tournament presented by Under Armour. First-round matches will start on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 3:00 p.m. Follow along with the competition at
