San Francisco State, Sonoma State, Cal State San Marcos, and Cal State East Bay finished among the top 80 teams as the NFCA revealed its Easton GPAs for NCAA Division II. Additionally, 57 CCAA student-athletes captured Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2023-24 academic year.
 
SF State led the way, posting a 3.685 team GPA to finish 13th in Div. II. They were the highest-ranked softball team from the West Region. SFSU also had 17 Gators win Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors.
 
Sonoma State placed 11 student-athletes on the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete team and placed 31st in the country with a 3.618 team GPA.
 
Cal State San Marcos finished just inside the top 50, placing 49th with a 3.56 GPA.

al State East Bay was 80th with a 3.4 GPA. The Pioneers saw 11 student-athletes earn Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors.
 
Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Humboldt did not win the team GPA award but placed multiple student-athletes on the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors team. Eight members of the CSUSB softball team and 11 members of the Lumberjacks were represented.
 
Post University registered the top GPA in the nation at 3.84. It was one of just three programs with a 3.80 or better GPA. Click here to read the complete NFCA release. 
 
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association’s membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way, with 2,573 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2023-24. NCAA Division III followed with 2,285 and NCAA Division II with 1,510. NAIA and junior colleges came in with 873 and 808 student-athletes, respectively. Five student-athletes from Penn State Brandywine earned recognition in the Other Four-Year category.
 
Member head coaches submit team GPAs and scholar-athletes. The High School team GPA winners and scholar-athletes will be announced on Sept. 1.
