CSC announces its 2025 Softball Academic All-District Team

May 30, 2025

Twenty-six softball student-athletes from around the CCAA will take home Academic All-District Team honors in 2025 for their work on the diamond and in the classroom. The all-district teams are selected by the College Sports Communicators.

The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and academics. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Sonoma State, San Francisco State, and Cal State East Bay placed a maximum of five on the academic All-District Team.  Chico State was represented by four student-athletes, and Stanislaus State had three. Cal State Monterey Bay also had multiple selections (two). Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State San Marcos each had one. Eight of the 10 CCAA schools that sponsor softball were represented on the list.

Cal State East Bay's Marissa Qunitero, Annelise Garcia. and Ashlee Toy were selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists. Joining them on the ballot for Academic All-American honors are Sonoma State's Amari Houston, San Francisco State's Kai DeLeon, and Cal State Monterey Bay's Ally Alcayaga. They will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 17. Click here to see the complete list of Academic All-District winners

To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at their position. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and are at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
