NAMPA, Idaho - Mariah Ramirez threw a complete game three-hitter while striking out 10 to lift No. 6 seed Cal State Dominguez Hills to a 2-0 win over No. 2 seed Northwest Nazarene in the winner's bracket of the 2024 NCAA Softball West Region Pod #2.
 
NNU also got a strong start from GNAC Pitcher of the Year Sidney Booth, who also went a complete game and had 11 strikeouts.
 
The Toros broke up the shutout in the top of the fifth on Kianna Abellera's solo home run and added another in the seventh on an RBI single by Jay Ross.
 
Martinez finished the seventh with two strikeouts in the inning to improve to 24-7.
 
Cal State Dominguez Hills will advance to the regional pod #2 championship game, where it will face Northwest Nazarene at 12:30 p.m. The Nighthawks will have to defeat the Toros twice to win the championship, and CSUDH will need just one win to advance to the Super Regional.
