ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal State East Bay's pitcher
Marissa Quintero has earned a spot on the prestigious College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America second team.
Quintero earned CCAA and D2CCA West Region Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive season. The junior Kinesiology major posted a 1.44 earned run average to rank seventh in NCAA Division II. She went 28-8 with four saves, a 1.06 WHIP, and 24 complete games. Those 28 wins ranked her fourth in the country, and her five shutouts ranked among the national leaders. Quintero was also top 10 in the country in pitching appearances (third, 47) and innings pitched (seventh, 228.2). Quintero added a pair of All-American honors with her selections to the D2CCA and NFCA teams.
Quintero is the second Pioneer softball student-athlete ever to receive this honor, joining Ali Cerminara (2015). Quintero is just the third to receive this honor since 2021.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-America® program.
