Golden Knights, meet Sedrick Altman. Led by 37 points from Altman, Cal State San Bernardino knocked off third-seed Gannon, 99-65, to open up the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Elite Eight on Tuesday at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind.

The CSUSB dominance snapped Gannon's school-record 21-game winning streak. The 65 points were the fewest of the season for a Golden Knights team that came in ranked second in Division II in scoring at over 100 ppg.

With the win, Cal State San Bernardino advances to the national semifinals for the second straight year where they will take on either Nova Southeastern or Southern New Hampshire on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. locally.

Despite tipping off at 10 a.m. Pacific time, CSUSB came out ready to play, hanging with the Golden Knights early. A jumper by Altman with 13:38 to go in the first half gave the 'Yotes the 12-11 lead and the West Region champions would continue to build onto the lead, hitting double-digits on a driving layup by LeAndrew Knight with 3:02 left to play that put CSUSB up 38-27. The 'Yotes continued to hold Gannon at bay, taking a 44-32 lead into the break.

In the second half, Gannon tried to flight back and briefly brought the deficit back into single digits but it wouldn't last for long as the CSUSB gameplan continued to prove successful. The 'Yotes slowly built the lead back up, hitting 20 with 10:47 remaining in the game before cruising the rest of the way.

CSUSB was led by the 37 points from Altman. Knight added 29 in the win and Robby Robinson scored 12 as the 'Yotes played just seven guys against the high-tempo Golden Knights until the final minute of the already-decided game.
