ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Sports Information Directors from around the California Collegiate Athletic Association have selected Cal State East Bay's Tyree Campbell as the 2025-26 CCAA Male Athlete of the Year.
The 2025-26 NABC Player of the Year had an outstanding senior season while helping Cal State East Bay become the first team ever to go 22-0 in the CCAA regular season. The Pioneers would earn the CCAA regular season and Tournament Championships before winning the NCAA West Regional and advancing to the program's first NCAA Elite Eight. CSUEB finished the season 33-1 and 22-0 in the CCAA.
The 6-5 forward was a key piece in helping Cal State East Bay achieve this storybook season, where it went from 11 wins in 2024-25 to 33 wins in 2025-26. Campbell averaging 14.2 points per game on .501 field goal percentage and .442 mark from 3-point range. He led the CCAA with 180 total field goals and was third in steals per game (1.59). Campbell scored in double-figures in 28 of 34 games. He also hit a 3-pointer and had steals in all but six games.
The All-American was also a lockdown perimeter defender, helping CSUSB rank eighth in NCAA Division II in scoring defense (63.5 points per game), 13th in steals per game (10.1), and 26th in field goal percentage defense (.407).
He finished his career with 1,127 points to rank fourth all-time at CSUEB. He is also fifth in the record books in steals (136) and sixth in 3-pointers (119). Campbell was the first Pioneer ever to earn CCAA or West Region Player of the Year honors.
Campbell graduated with a degree in Communications and was selected to the NABC Honors Court.
Campbell is also the first CSUEB student-athlete ever to win CCAA Male or Female Athlete of the Year.
