Cal State San Marcos is the only CCAA team still remaining in the 2023 NCAA Softball Championships after three conference teams were eliminated from postseason play on Friday, May 12.

Jaylin Sloss and Savannah Coyle combined on a two-hit shutout to lead Cal State San Marcos to a 5-0 win over defending regional champions, Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The Cougars put two runs on the board in the first inning and two more in the third. Jillian Albayati was part of both rallies. She closed out the first inning scoring with a sac fly to plate Bianca Gutierrez. She then doubled in a runner in the third, and her pinch runner came around to score to extend the lead to 4-0.
With the lead in hand, Sloss went the first five innings, allowing only five baserunners. She worked out a bases loaded jam in the third to keep the game scoreless before handing the ball over to Coyle in the sixth.
The win sends CSUSM to the championship series. They will face Azusa Pacific on Saturday at 11 a.m.
#8 Biola 1, #5 Cal State San Bernardino 0 [Box score]
Cal State San Bernardino fell 1-0 to Biola in an elimination game at the NCAA Softball West Regional.
Biola scored the only run of the game in the third inning on a two-out single by Allie Beck. CSUSB loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth with the chance to tie for take the lead, but came up empty when the last batter struck out.
Samantha Vargas (19-14) was the tough-luck loser. She went all seven innings, allowing four hits and just the one run. Her counterpart, Raylene Roybal also threw a complete game. She gave up six hits and three walks while striking out nine.
Biola will play Northwest Nazarene on Friday evening to see who will face Concordia in the championship series.
#7 Azusa Pacific 5, #2 Cal State Dominguez Hills 4 (9 innings) [Box score]
The postseason magic finally ran out for the Toros as they fell 5-4 in nine innings to Azusa Pacific in an elimination game.
Cal State Dominguez Hills led the entire game until the bottom of the fifth when the Cougars rallied for three runs on three consecutive run-scoring singles.
The Toros got one run back in the sixth to cut the deficit to 4-3. In the seventh, with CSUDH down to its final strike of the game, Jay Ross doubled off the wall in right-center to plate pinch-runner Faith Hernandez with the game-tying run.
After both teams did not score in the eighth, Azusa Pacific put its first two hitters on base with a walk and a single. Following a strikeout, Kinsey Erickson singled up the middle to score Ally Chin with the game-winning run.
