Five of the 10 spots on the latest NCAA West Region rankings were occupied by CCAA teams.
Cal State Dominguez Hills continued to hold the No. 1 spot with a 26-1 record against NCAA Division II opponents. Cal State San Marcos remained at No. 3 and Cal State LA moved up a spot to No. 5. Cal Poly Pomona (No. 7) and Chico State (No. 9) are also on the committee's radars for postseason play.
The top eight teams in the final regional rankings will earn an invitation to the NCAA West Regional. Three spots go to the winners of the tournament in the three West Region conferences (CCAA, GNAC, PacWest). There will also be five at-large bids selected by a committee.
The final NCAA regional rankings will be released Wednesday, Mar. 1. The regional field will be finalized on the NCAA Selection Show on Mar. 5 on NCAA.com.
