CSC awards 26 Women's Basketball Academic All-District honors to the CCAA

Mar 28, 2026

Twenty-six student-athletes from nine CCAA universities represented the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) on the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Basketball Academic All-District Team.

The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State East Bay led the conference with four selections apiece. Cal Poly Humboldt, Cal State LA, and Cal State Monterey Bay each placed three student-athletes on the team.

Cal Poly Humboldt's Shade Satica, Cal Poly Pomona's Sydney Nelson, and Cal State San Bernardino's Princess Cassell were selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists. They will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 14. To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at their position. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and are at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
