Broncos' Sydney Nelson and Golden Eagles' Nevaeh Asiasi collect WBCA All-American honors

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona's Sydney Nelson and Cal State LA's Nevaeh Asiasi closed out their 2025-26 seasons by being named WBCA All-Americans. Nelson earned first-team honors, and Nevaeh was an honorable mention selection.
 
“We applaud the members of the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches’ All-America team,” said WBCA Executive Director Danielle M. Donehew. “Each of these young women has achieved an elite level of play in NCAA Division II and by doing so has increased public awareness of the women’s game.”
 
Sydney Nelson put together a fantastic junior season, averaging 18.7 points per game and helping lead Cal Poly Pomona to a CCAA regular-season title and an NCAA West Region Championship. She shot .487 percent from the field and .760 percent from the free throw line, ranking second in the CCAA in both categories. The Eastvale, Calif., native also averaged 5.4 rebounds per game and 1.4 steals per game.
 
Nevaeh Asiasi was the CCAA's leading scorer this season, averaging 19.4 points per game. The senior guard also averaged 8.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, ranking fifth in the CCAA in both categories. She also had 10 double-doubles and ranked second in the CCAA with 2.71 steals per game. Asiasi helped Cal State LA win the program's first CCAA Tournament Championship in 70 years and led them to the NCAA West Regional.
