Cal State Monterey Bay carried in the momentum from their comeback win earlier in the day to score in each of the first four innings and defeat the No. 1 seed Cal State San Marcos 8-6. The win secured the Otters a spot in the CCAA Softball Championship game and eliminated the Cougars from the tournament.

The Otters posted two runs in the first inning on a sacrifice fly and an error. An Abby Alcayaga solo home run in the second and a run-scoring double by Oli Perez extended the lead to 4-0 after three innings.

Cal State San Marcos responded with a three-run rally in the bottom of the third. Nikki Andelin singled in two with the bases loaded and later scored on a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to one (4-3).

Ally Alcayaga, who was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored in the game,  extended the Otters' lead back to four with a three-run shot to right field in the fourth.

Cal State San Marcos would add single runs in the fifth and sixth inning. Nikki Andelin homered to start the bottom of the seventh, and Cal State Monterey Bay immediately went to the bullpen for Jensen Main.

Main gave up a double to the first batter she faced, but she got two groundouts and a strikeout to earn the save. Cassie Gasper was credited with the save after throwing six innings and allowing five hits and six runs (four earned). She walked three and struck out six.

Ivana Perez finished the game 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored. Andelin went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored for Cal State San Marcos.

Cal State Monterey Bay will advance to the 2022 CCAA Softball Tournament championship game. The loss eliminates Cal State San Marcos.
