Cal State Monterey Bay rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-2 and stay alive in the elimination bracket of the 2022 CCAA Softball Championship.

Cal State Dominguez Hills' Ashley Wies was dominant for the first six innings putting up zeroes in each frame. Her teammates battled for single runs in fourth on a two-out single by Dafne Bravo and sacrifice fly by Raquel Jaime to give the Toros a 2-0 lead going into the last frame, but that is when the Otters' bats woke up.

Oli Perez and Abby Alcayaga reached base with one out in the inning before Jessilyn Barrow doubled down the right-field line to score one and put runners on second and third. After a pitching change, leadoff batter Jessica Cross singled through the right side to tie the game at 2-2.

Two pitches later, relief pitcher Clarisa Ramirez's offering hit the dirt and skipped away from the catcher, allowing Barrow to sprint home for the game-winning run.

Jensen Main earned the win for Cal State Monterey Bay. The senior right-hander pitched all seven innings allowing nine hits and two runs while walking two and striking out four. Wies finished the game with 6.1 innings pitched, six hits, and three runs (two earned). She walked only one and struck out five.

Cal State Monterey Bay advances to play Cal State San Marcos for the right to play in the CCAA Softball Championship. The loss eliminates Cal State Dominguez Hills.
