Men's Track and Field Feb 26, 2019 Polk, Bejaran Collect CCAA Weekly Honors After provisional qualifying marks from the pair, UC San Diego’s Josef Polk and Eric Bejaran of Stanislaus State have been named CCAA Track and Field Athlete of the Wee for Feb. 18-24, respectively. Polk, a junior from Linden, recorded recorded his first provisional-qualifying mark of the 2019 season on Saturday, earning first place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 53.40 seconds at the Rossi Relays. Polk was also the anchor on the Tritons’ 4x400 relay team that placed second with a time of 3:20.98, and finished fourth in the long jump with a best leap of 21 feet, 0.75 inches (6.42 meters). Hailing from Turlock, Bejaran scored 26 of Stanislaus State’s 61 points by winning two of three events entered at the Fresno Pacific Sunbird Invitational. He won the hammer throw event with a 62.86 meter toss (206 feet, 3 inches), god for a NCAA provisional qualifying mark. He also won the shot put with a throw of 15.57 meters (51-1), and finished third in the discus (45.37m, 148-10) during the outstanding outing for the Warriors. Both squads are back in action March 1-2 as the Tritons compete in the Beach Invitational and Stanislaus State hosts the Kim Duyst Invitational.
