Aug 5, 2026

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona will enter the 2026 women’s soccer season firmly established among the nation’s elite after earning the No. 2 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II preseason poll.

The ranking comes after an exceptional two-year run for the Broncos. Cal Poly Pomona captured the first NCAA championship in program history in 2024 before returning to the national semifinals last season. CPP completed the 2025 campaign with an 18-3-3 record, won its third consecutive CCAA regular-season championship and captured the NCAA West Region title.

Defending champions Florida Tech occupy the top spot in the preseason poll, followed by Cal Poly Pomona, Franklin Pierce, Washburn and Dallas Baptist in the top five. Click here to see the complete preseason poll.

Four additional CCAA teams were recognized in the preseason rankings. Stanislaus State, Cal State LA, Chico State, and Cal State San Marcos were all listed among the teams receiving votes, giving the conference five programs recognized nationally entering the season.

Cal Poly Pomona will open the 2026 season on Thursday, Aug. 27, when the Broncos host Minot State at Kellogg Stadium.
