Hayward, Calif. — The No. 2 seed, and tournament host, Cal State East Bay rallied in the seventh to beat Cal Poly Humboldt, 7-6, in the second game on Thursday during the 2026 CCAA Softball Tournament presented by FloCollege. With the win, the Pioneers advance in the winner bracket and will face Cal State San Marcos Friday morning at 10 a.m.
Cal State San Marcos and Jordan HIll shut-out the hottest team in the conference as the Cougars blanked Cal State Dominguez Hills, 5-0, in the first game on Thursday.
Cal State East Bay provided the tournament's second walk-off win in three games over two days.
Trailing 6-5 heading into the final inning, the Pioneers even the score on a Jasmyn Morales leadoff solo homer to left. CSUEB then get two runners on base, with the help of a defensive miscue on a sac bunt, with nobody out. Pinch hitter Reagan Hallett's hard grounder to shortstop set-up a bang-bang play at the plate. Pinch runner Sarissa Block was ruled safe on an obstruction call to end the game.
Humboldt had ralied from trailng 5-2 by scoring four runs in the top of the sixth to take a 6-5 lead. The inning featured three hits, including two doubles, a walk and an error as the Lumberjacks chased Marissa Quintero. Bella Garcia singled in the then go-ahead run to cap an eventful inning.
Morales and Cynthia Carillo each had two hits with Carillo driving in three runs to lead CSUEB. Humboldt was led by Garcia's 2-for-4 game.
Lily Fournier took the loss despite a 7-strikeout performance. She allowed five earned runs on eight hits in six innings. Jaidyn Gamble earned the win in relief by pitching 1.1 clean innings.
