Hayward, Calif. — Cal State San Marcos and Jordan HIll shut-out the hottest team in the conference as the Cougars blanked Cal State Dominguez Hills, 5-0, in the first game on Thursday during the 2026 CCAA Softball Tournament presented by FloCollege.
CSUSM moves on to Friday's first semifinal game against the Cal State East Bay Pioneers, who later rallied to beat Cal Poly Humboldt, 7-6. First pitch for the showdown is at 10 a.m.
Hill threw the complete game shutout and allowed just four hits. She also struck out three batters. The CSUSM offense was led by home runs by Jillian Albayati and Czar Fleischman, who had two of the six San Marcos hits. Fleischman's solo dinger got CSUSM on the board in the second inning and Albayati's two-run bomb to right field made it 5-0 in the fifth.
Gaby Gandara went 2-for-2 for Cal State Dominguez Hills. Savanna Kastigar hit a two-out doubled in the second. Cal State Dominguez Hills entered the tournament with nine straight wins to end the regular season and took the tournament's single elimination opener on Wednesday to extend its win-streak to 10.
