Cal State San Marcos scored eight runs in the first inning and another five in the fourth inning to earn a 14-4 win over Cal State Monterey Bay in the winner's bracket of the 2026 NCAA Softball West Regional.
Alizabeth Ruiz was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored. Zoe Karam collected four RBI as she went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored. Marissa Morales was 1-for-2 with two walks, but she had three RBI and three runs scored. Every starter for CSUSM either had a hit or scored a run.
Hailey Shifflett earned the win in relief of Jordan Hill. Shifflet pitched the final three innings, allowing only one hit and no walks.
Nani Arreola and Gracie Strycula each had two-run homers for Cal State Monterey Bay.
#2 Cal State East Bay 8, #3 Concordia 7 [Box score]
Cal State East Bay fell behind 7-3 early but battled back to defeat PacWest Champions Concordia, 8-7, and advance in the elimination bracket.
Trailing 7-3 entering the fourth, CSUEB began to chip away at the lead with solo home runs from Jeslyn Cuellar (fourth) and Jasmyn Morales (fifth).
The Pioneers would take the lead with a three-run sixth inning. Sarissa Block tied the game with a two-run homer, and Jasmyn Carrillo brought in the go-ahead run with a double to left (8-7).
Jaidyn Gamble (13-8) earned the win. She entered in the second inning and allowed only seven hits and two runs over the next six innings. She walked one and struck out three.
#4 Cal State Dominguez Hills 10, #8 Hawaii Hilo 2 [Box score]
Cal State Dominguez Hills kept its hopes of a regional title alive by defeating Hawaii Hilo in an elimination game, 10-2.
The Toros' offense came ready to play as it posted a three-run first inning and a six-run second inning. Dyoni Garcia provided the big hit in the first with a two-out, two-run double. Four different Toros knocked in runs in the second inning, including Garcia, who capped off the scoring with a two-out, two-run homer.
Pitcher Ashley Ogata would take it the rest of the way. She allowed only four hits and one run over five innings. She walked one and struck out three.
Garcia finished the game 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and four RBI. Savanna Kastigar, Gaby Gandara, Marisa Dominguez, and Makayla Bishop each reached base multiple times and scored two runs.
#2 Cal State East Bay 9, #7 Western Washington 1 [Box score]
With their backs against the wall, Cal State East Bay dominated defending regional champions Western Washington to stay alive in the NCAA playoffs with a 9-1 win.
The Pioneers opened the game by scoring seven runs before the Vikings would even take the field. They would send 11 batters to the plate, and seven would come home. CSUEB registered five RBI hits in the inning, with Sarissa Block providing the big hit with a two-run single.
Cal State East Bay would tack on runs with solo shots in the second by Jasmyn Morales and in the third by Jennavee Campos.
Marissa Quintero would earn the win and improve to 28-8. She yielded just two hits and one run in five innings. She walked two and struck out one.
#4 Cal State Dominguez Hills 5, #5 Cal State Monterey Bay 2 [Box score]
Cal State Dominguez Hills got revenge for its first-round loss by knocking Cal State Monterey Bay out of the regional with a 5-2 win.
The Toros posted only five hits in the game, but they made them count. They scored two apiece in the first and second innings, before adding another in the third on a double by Mireya Rico to go in front 5-1.
Audrey Gallegos pitched a complete game for CSUDH. She scattered seven hits while allowing two runs and three walks. She struck out one.
