Cal State East Bay’s Marissa Quintero has been selected as FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week, her fourth this season.

Quintero racked up two more complete game victories in the circle, leading the No. 7 ranked Pioneers to another series win (three games to one) at Stanislaus State last weekend. In three appearances, she pitched 15.2 innings and allowed just one earned run on eight hits to improve her personal record to 20-2. Both of her wins came in one-run games.

In the series opener, the Pioneers needed Quintero to win the game as they held on to a 4-3 win. The junior pitcher from Whittier, Calif., had a 4-0 lead before Stan State scored two unearned runs in the third inning. The Warriors would make it 4-3 in the fifth but Quintero retired seven straight batters to end the game for the win. Quintero picked up another win in the series finale after CSUEB rallied for three runs in the final two innings for a 3-2 win. Quintero left seven baserunners on base despite walking five batters.

Quintero ranks second in Division II in ERA (1.06) and is third with 20 victories. She tops the conference leaderboard in ERA, opposing batting average (.165), innings (132.0), strikeouts (100), and wins. Click here to see the CCAA stats leaderboard
