Ashley Rocha of San Francisco State was voted as FloCollege/CCAA Softball Player of the Week, for the week of March 30-April 5.
Rocha collected 10 hits and batted .588 to lead the Gators to a three-games-to-one series win at Chico State last weekend. She went 10-for-17 with a double, drove in four runs and scored five times to help the SF State offense, which out-scored the Wildcats 25-13. Rocha posted a slugging percentage of .647 and a .588 on-base percentage. She also stole two bases.
The senior centerfielder had three three-hit games, including a 3-for-4 game in the opener which SF State won 11-2 in five innings. Rocha scored the lone run, the eventual winner, in the top of the seventh inning of the 1-0 nightcap win. In Saturday’s game one, she went 3-for-5 with a double and drove in three runs to lead the charge in the 9-5 win. Defensively, she was flawless in 12 chances in centerfield.
Rocha is fifth in the CCAA in stolen bases as the Gators lead the conference in steals (103). Her teammate Olivia Mares tops the league with 31 stolen bases. Click here to see the CCAA stats leaderboard.
