Abreanna Alba of Cal State Monterey Bay has been picked as FloCollege/CCAA Softball Player of the Week, for the week of April 20-26.
Alba smashed three home runs and drove in 10 runs to lead the Otters to a three-games-to-one series win over Cal State San Bernardino last week. She went 6-for-15 (.400) with a 1.067 slugging percentage to lead CSUMB as the Otters outscored the Coyotes, 35-19. Alba also added a double and scored six runs.
The junior from Watsonville, Calif., started the series with a bang, going 2-for-3 with two dingers with five runs batted in. Alba then went 2-for-4 with three RBI in game two for a four-hit, 8-RBI day as CSUMB swept CSUSB on Friday. She then added a double in game one on Saturday before a two-run bomb in the finale to complete her offensive weekend.
Among CCAA leaders, Alba is fifth in slugging percentage (.652) and seventh with a 1.088 OPS. She’s tied for third with 11 home runs and is also tied for fifth with 46 RBI. Click here to see the CCAA stats leaderboard.
