Chico State’s Damian Garcia wins FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Track Athlete of the Week honors Apr 14, 2026 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Damian Garcia from Chico State has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. (April 14) Garcia delivered a standout performance at the Chico Invitational, winning the Mile in a time of 4:00.51 to secure an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark and a personal best. The race marked just the third time Garcia has competed in the Mile during his collegiate career, making his near sub-four-minute performance even more impressive. Competing under challenging conditions following a weather delay, Garcia controlled the race and produced one of the top times in the conference this season, continuing his strong junior campaign for the Wildcats. Members of the team will participate in the Bryan Clay Invitational (Azusa Pacific), the Leopard Invitational (La Verne), and the Pacific Coast and Beach Invitational (Long Beach State). All these will take place between April 16 and 18. Wildcats will also travel just down Highway 99 to Yuba College to compete in the Last Chance Invitational on Saturday, April 18.
