Halle McDaniels of Cal Poly Pomona named FloCollege/CCAA Field Athlete of the Week

Halle McDaniels of Cal Poly Pomona has been named as the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, for the week of April 6-12.

McDaniels won the discus event at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday, recording a personal best throw of 47.82 meters (156 feet, 11 inches). The mark cleared the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA championships. She now ranks 14th in Division II and has the second best distance in the CCAA. McDaniels now has the third best mark in school history.

The junior from Eastvale, Calif., also competed in the hammer throw (46.06m) and shot put (11.51m) on Saturday, placing third and fourth, respectively. Amongst CCAA athletes, McDaniels has the season’s third best toss in the hammer and the fourth best mark in shot put. Click here to see the CCAA Performance List.

This week the Broncos will split between the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa and Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
