Cal Poly Pomona’s Jessica James has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, for the week of March 3-8.

James recorded two national-leading times with a pair of provisional qualifiers at the Beach Opener at Long Beach State on Saturday. She won the 400-meter race in 54.65 seconds, which surpassed the qualifying time for the NCAA Championships. Her third place finish time of 23.93 seconds in the 200-meter also met the provisional qualifying standard.

The senior from Gardnerville, Nev., currently has Division II’s fastest times in both the 200-meter and 400-meter. With these personal bests, she has moved into the top 10 in Cal Poly Pomona program history for each event.

James was a two-time bronze medalist from the 2025 CCAA Track & Field Championships in the 200- and 400-meter races.
