For the second time this season, Cal Poly Humboldt’s Joseph Gonzalez has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Gonzalez broke his own school record in the shot, which he set three weeks ago. The previous Humboldt record had stood for 33 years. The junior from Eureka, Calif., won the event at the Humboldt Invite with a mark of 55-9.75 (17.01m). His throw was an NCAA provisional qualifying standard. It moved him to the top spot on the CCAA performance list and to 14th in NCAA Division II.

He also placed second in the discus with a mark of 154-9 (47.18m), moving him to third on the CCAA performance list. Click here to see Gonzalez’s TFRRS profile
