Cal Poly Pomona’s Neshara Smith has been picked as this week’s FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, for the week of March 23-29.

In her first outdoor outing in the event this season, Smith won the 100-meter hurdles race at the Mangrum Invitational in San Marcos on Friday in a time of 13.65 seconds. The time is well over the NCAA Championship qualifying time of 14.14. The speedy time is this season’s fastest by a CCAA athlete by 0.6 seconds. Smith, the 2025 CCAA champion in 100m hurdles, now leads the West Region and is third fastest in Division II.

The senior from Bakersfield also finished second in the high jump on Friday with a clearance of 1.65 meters (5 foot-5 inches). The mark, by the reigning CCAA heptathlon champion, ties for the conference best posted this season.

This is Smith’s first CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award this season, the second of her career. Click here for a complete list of past CCAA Track & Field Athletes of the Week.

Cal Poly Pomona has two meets on the schedule this week with athletes going to either the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, or the Triton Invitational in La Jolla on Friday and Saturday.
