Jillian Albayati of Cal State San Marcos has been selected as FloCollege/CCAA Softball Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Albayati slashed .714/1.500/.722 in a tremendous offensive series against Cal State Monterey Bay as the No. 2 Cougars swept a four-game set over the No. 25 ranked Otters. Albayati went 10-for-14 (.714 batting average) with four multi-hit games with two home runs and five doubles for a 1.500 slugging percentage. She drove in six runs and scored seven times with three walks against no strikeouts for a .722 on-base percentage. Her OPS was 2.222.

The senior shortstop from Anaheim, Calif., had two hits in each game on Friday, including two doubles in the nightcap as CSUSM showcased its offensive power with 19-6 and 7-4 wins. In Saturday’s twinbill, Albayati stayed hot with three hits in each game to extend her hitting streak to 16 games. She belted home runs in consecutive at bats over two games, first a three-run bomb in the seventh that led to a 10-6 Cougars win. Albayati then began the finale with a solo shot in the first inning before CSUSM completed the sweep in the 5-3 victory.

Albayati now leads Division II with a .580 batting average and is in the top five in many other offensive categories. In the CCAA, she ranks first in slugging (1.020), on-base (.642), OPS (1.662), hits (58), and RBI (53).  Click here to see the CCAA stats leaderboard.
