Cal State LA’s Kailea Satterwhite selected as FloCollege/CCAA Field Athlete of the Week

Cal State LA’s Kailea Satterwhite has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, for the week of Feb. 23-March 1.

Satterwhite provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with a discus throw of 158 feet, 11 inches as she placed second at the Rossi Relays in Claremont on Saturday. Her personal best mark of 48.45 meters, which is second best in the nation, is over the qualifying standard of 45.53. She finished second to Azusa Pacific’s Kristina Rakocevic who threw a national best 168-8.

The sophomore from San Bernardino, Calif., now has the eighth best all-time mark in the discus at Cal State LA. Satterwhite also finished 13th in the hammer throw over the weekend.

This is Satterwhite’s first CCAA Field Athlete of the Week award. She was the 2024 CCAA champion in the discus throw. Click here for a complete list of past CCAA Track & Field Athletes of the Week.

Cal State LA will compete at the Beach Opener this weekend, March 6-7, at Long Beach State.
