Humboldt’s Joseph Gonzalez breaks 33-year-old school record and wins FloCollege/CCAA Field Athlete of the Week Mar 10, 2026 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal Poly Humboldt’s Joseph Gonzalez has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after his record-breaking performance. Gonzalez set a new outdoor school record in the shot put with a throw of 53-7.75 (16.35m), a record that stood for 33 years by Hall of Fame football and track star Rodney Dickerson. The Eureka, Calif., native won the meet with this throw and had an outstanding series, throwing 16.34m in another of his attempts. His mark ranks first in the CCAA.
