ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona holds a four-point lead over
Stanislaus State and
Chico State in the first Robert J. Hiegert Commissioner's Cup standings released for the 2025-26 academic year.
The Broncos posted 48.45 points over four fall sports as they seek their second consecutive Commissioner's Cup.
Stanislaus State sits second in the standings with 44.69 points, followed closely by
Chico State with 44.35 points.

An institution's Hiegert Cup ranking is calculated using its top two conference finishes in the fall, winter, and spring sports seasons and the following two highest finishes (aka Flex Sports).
Cal State San Bernardino holds the No. 4 spot after the Fall with 36.73 points.
Cal State San Marcos is fifth (34.14 points), followed by
Cal State East Bay (33.01) and
Cal State LA (29.41).
Cal Poly Humboldt posted 24.19 points to rank eighth.
Only .14 points separate
Cal State Dominguez Hills and
Cal State Monterey Bay, as the Toros (21.45) and Otters (21.31) rank ninth and 10th, respectively.
San Francisco State (15.69) and
UC Merced (13.42) completed the 12-team standings.
Cal Poly Pomona had strong seasons in volleyball, women's soccer, and men's & women's cross country, placing in the top 3 of the conference standings in each sport. The women's soccer team won its third consecutive CCAA Championship, and the volleyball team won its second straight. The men's cross country team placed second, and the women's team finished third.
Stanislaus State had the highest total points across all five sports, but could only take their top 4 scores. The men's soccer team placed second and collected a bonus point for winning the CCAA Tournament. Women's cross country also finished second, and women's soccer tied for third. Volleyball made a late run and finished fourth in the standings.
Chico State's men's and women's cross country teams combined to collect 26 of the Wildcats' 44.35 points. Each team won the meet on its home course, earning 13 points apiece. Women's soccer added a second-place finish, and volleyball was seventh.
Without a men's cross country team,
Cal State San Bernardino had to take the points from all four fall sports, and each delivered to lift the Coyotes to fourth place in the commissioner's cup. The volleyball team finished second and added a bonus point for winning the CCAA Tournament. The women's soccer team tied for third, and the men's soccer team finished fifth. Cross country's eighth-place finish rounded out CSUSB's score.
Much like Chico,
Cal State San Marcos' best fall performances came on the cross country course. The men's team placed third, and the women's team finished fourth. Men's soccer tied for fourth, and women's soccer tied for seventh.
Cal State East Bay had all five of its fall teams qualify for CCAA postseason play. The men's soccer team tied for fourth, and the women's soccer team and volleyball team both finished tied for fifth. The top score of the fall for the Pioneers (8.63 points) was delivered by the women's cross country team, which placed fifth.
Men's soccer and volleyball provided the top 2 scores for
Cal State LA. The volleyball team placed third to earn 10.81 points, and the men's soccer team collected 10.6 points with its third-place finish.
The
Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer team led the Lumberjacks, as they tied for fifth in the regular season before winning the CCAA Tournament. They also received strong performances in men's cross country (fifth) and women's cross country (seventh).
Cal State Dominguez Hills was powered by its men's soccer team, which won the conference and collected the full 13 points.
Cal State Monterey Bay,
San Francisco State, and
UC Merced round out the standings.
The specific number of points per sport is determined by the number of institutions sponsoring it. This fall update includes the institution's top two finishes and two flex sports.
The winner of the 2025-26 Robert J. Hiegert Commissioner's Cup will be announced at the executive council meeting in June.
Cal Poly Pomona won the 2024-25 Robert J. Hiegert Commissioner's Cup with 96.53 points.
