[Meet results]

TURLOCK, Calif.  - The Cal Poly Pomona women’s track & field team won its fourth consecutive team title and the Cal State San Bernardino sprinters shattered conference records on Saturday at the 2025 CCAA Track & Field Championships presented by Pollo Campero.

The Broncos collected 184.5 points to claim the team title. Chico State finished second (149.5 points), and Cal State San Bernardino (114) was third. It was the second straight season with the same top 3 finishers.

Cal Poly Pomona’s Neshara Smith claimed CCAA Newcomer of the Meet and the High Point Award to help lead CPP to the title. The junior from Bakersfield won the 100m hurdles (13.84) and the heptathlon (4792 points). She also placed second in the high jump (5-4.5/1.64m) and the long jump (19-9.5/6.03m) to claim 36 points for the Broncos. Her marks in every event but the high jump met the NCAA Provisional Standard.

Cal State San Marcos’ Rasha Badrani claimed CCAA Track Athlete of the Meet after winning two events within an hour. First, she captured the title in the women’s 400m with an NCAA Provisional Standard time of 53.25. She then won the 400m hurdles with another NCAA Provisional mark of 59.61. This is Badrani’s second consecutive conference title in the 400m hurdles.

Jonon Young repeated as champion in the long jump and triple jump to earn CCAA Field Athlete of the Meet. She won both events with NCAA Provisional Standards. In the long jump, Young registered a mark of 20-10 (6.35m) on Thursday to win the event by a foot and post a new personal record. She followed up with a triple jump victory on Friday as she registered a mark of 41-1.75 (12.54m).

Freshman of the Year honors went to Cal State East Bay’s Julia Carmona. She finished second to Young in the triple jump with a mark of 38-10.5. Carmona also participated in the long jump and ran on the 4x400m relay team.

Cal State San Bernardino rewrote the CCAA record books in the 100m, 4x100m, and 4x400m relays. Alexandra Ackerman, Hailey Hunt, Amari Weatherford, and Coryssa Hope teamed up in the 4x100m to open the day with a CCAA Championship record time of 44.83. It broke San Francisco State’s record of 45.29, which had stood since 2019. It was 1.56 seconds better than their winning time last season.

They would close out the day with another NCAA Provisional Standard, this time in the 4x400m relay, where Hope, Hunt, Weatherford, and Alexis White ran over a second faster than San Francisco State’s 2018 mark with a 3:40.52. They won the 4x400m by nearly nine seconds.

CSUSB’s Hailey Hunt also shattered the conference championship record in the 100m. After breaking the previous record of 11.59 during the prelims with a 11.46, she ran a time of 11.30 in finals to set the new standard. Weatherford ran a time of 11.47 for the second-fast time in conference history.

Amari Weatherford also claimed the title in the 200m which became the most competitive race of the day. The top five places all earned NCAA Provisional Standards. CSUSB claimed each of the top three spots with Weatherford’s time of 23.34 leading the way.

Chico State’s Iresh Molina won a pair of championships as she added to her 10k title from Thursday night with the 5k time on Saturday. She won the event with a time of 17:16.53 to finish ahead of Cal Poly Pomona’s Vivian Martinez and her teammate and sister Della Molina.

Cal State East Bay’s Jenna Rodriguez won the women’s 800m with an NCAA Provisional Time of 2:11.32. She is the Pioneers’ fist conference champion since Chase Worten in 2022 (1500m).

Stanislaus State Annie Wild became a back-to-back conference champion when she posted an NCAA Provisional Standard time of 4:21.42 in the 1500m finals. She also placed second in the 800m.

She was the only student-athlete to hit the provisional mark. Amber Walker was also the only student-athlete to achieve the NCAA Provisional Standard in her event. Walker cleared 5-6.5 (1.69m) in the high jump to win the event by two inches. They are the first Seawolves to stand on top of the podium for winning a field event since Melissa Costa won back-to-back javelin titles in 1999 and 2000.

Andrea Villalta for Chico State became the javelin champion when she edged out her teammate Josie Peterson by two inches with a throw of 133-4 (40.65m).
