Cal State LA's Summer Stevenson wins National Triple Jump Title, and more results from Track & Field Championships

May 22, 2026

EMPORIA, Kan. - Cal State LA's Summer Stevenson became the CCAA's first individual national champion since 2017 as she won the triple jump championship to highlight the conference's performances on the first two days of the 2026 NCAA Women's Track & Field Championships.

Stevenson registered a career-best jump of 42-5.25 (12.93m) on her third attempt of the meet. That put her in the lead by 2.5 inches (.06m). Embry-Riddle's Mikaela Miles' last jump looked as though it could challenge Stevenson for the title, but it fell .01m short, and Stevenson held on for Cal State LA's first individual title since 2012 (Calista Lyon, Discus).

Stevenson was not the only Golden Eagle to earn All-American honors on Friday. Kailea Satterwhite took the awards podium after placing fourth in the discus with a personal-record throw of 168-8 (51.41). Satterwhite came into the championships as the 12th seed, but she eclipsed her previous-best mark by 5-2 (1.59m) to earn first-team All-American honors. Those two finishes gave Cal State LA 15 team points, and it currently stands in sixth.

Chico State is in 10th with 10 points after Iresh Molina and Della Molina placed third and fifth, respectively, in the women's 10k on Thursday evening. Iresh registered a time of 34:21.05, finishing just hundredths-of-a-second behind second place. Della also collected first-team All-American honors with her fifth-place finish (34:29.63). Megan Malloy earned a second-team All-American honor with her 11th-place finish (35:23.52).

The Cal Poly Pomona women's 4x400m relay team of Yasmeen Delgado, Jordan Garcia, Hannah Bassett, and Jessica James also earned second-team All-American honors with its 10th-place finish (3:40.79).

Cal Poly Pomona's Arissa Hatcher broke the school record, finishing third in the 800m prelims with a time of 2:06.18. That was nearly a second better than her previous career-best mark, and it moved her to the finals on Saturday.

Cal Poly Humboldt's Isabel Perez-Zoghbi also qualified for the 800m finals, posting a time of 2:07.65 in the prelims.

Neshara Smith from Cal Poly Pomona placed 11th in the 100m hurdles, adding an All-American honor to her list of accolades in 2026.

The USFTCCCA first team All-America honors are awarded to those who finish first through eighth. Second-team All-American honors are awarded to those who finish ninth through sixteenth. The top eight relay teams are first-team All-Americans, and the ninth through twelfth are second-team. This was newly expanded in 2026.

The 2026 NCAA Track & Field Championships will conclude on Saturday, May 23.
