The conference announced the All-CCAA softball teams and individual award winners for the 2025 season on Monday, April 28.
Cal State San Bernardino’s
Tereise Tosi repeated as the CCAA Player of the Year, and Cal State East Bay’s Marissa Quintero was selected as the CCAA Pitcher of the Year. Sonoma State had a pair of individual award winners with
Iris Bejarano being named Newcomer of the Year and
Sophia Newcomb capturing Freshman of the Year honors.
Claire Sua-Amundson was voted the CCAA Coach of the Year after leading the Pioneers to their first CCAA Championship.
Tereie Tosi is the fifth student-athlete to win CCAA player of the Year honors in consecutive seasons. The senior third baseman led the conference in batting average (.467), hits (79), home runs (14), runs batted in (47), total bases (139), and slugging percentage (.822). Tosi is also ranked top in NCAA Division II in hits and total bases. She was a three-time FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week and reached base safely in 26 consecutive games. Tosi helped lead CSUSB to a CCAA Tournament berth for the third straight season.
The conference coaches voted Cal State East Bay’s Marissa Quintero the CCAA Pitcher of the Year. Quintero led the CCAA and ranked 12th in NCAA Division II with a 1.20 earned run average. She was second in wins (18) and WHIP (0.99), and paced the conference with six shutouts. Opponents hit only .193 against her, and she was fourth in the CCAA with 91 strikeouts. The Whittier native was the 2024 CCAA Freshman of the Year, and she earned FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week honors three times during the 2025 season.
Sophia Newcomb has been a starter since day 1 and has set the tone for the Seawolves at the top of their lineup all season en route to earning CCAA Freshman of the Year. The outfielder from Fair Oaks ranked sixth in the CCAA in batting average (.375) and runs scored (40). She is tied for second in hits (70) and leads the league in triples (seven). Newcomb reached base safely in 48 of 54 games and posted a 17-game hitting streak.
It had been 19 years since a Seawolf last won CCAA Softball Newcomer of the Year honors until
Iris Bejarano broke that streak in 2025. The junior first baseman hit .308 with a .373 on-base percentage and a .758 OPS in her first season at Sonoma State. She had one home run, 29 RBI, and scored 17 runs. The Salinas native recorded eight multi-RBI games.
Claire Sua-Amundson was named the CCAA Coach of the Year after leading Cal State East Bay to the No. 1 ranking in the West Region and the program’s first CCAA Championship. The Pioneers were picked to finish fifth in the CCAA preseason coaches poll, but Sua-Amundson guided them to 11 consecutive wins to start the 2025 season. The team is 38-11 on the season with a school-record 26 CCAA wins. Sua-Amundson oversees one of the top pitching staffs in the country. The Pioneers rank seventh in ERA (1.80) and WHIP (1.00) and 13th in shutouts (13).
Sua-Amundson also guided five Pioneers to All-CCAA honors, including a CCAA-best four on the first team. Quintero was joined on the All-CCAA first team by catcher
Annelise Garcia, Utility/Pitcher
Ashlee Toy, and Utility/Non-Pitcher
Marissa Farias. Designated Player
Alexa Zumstein earned a spot on the All-CCAA second team.
Sonoma State matched Cal State East Bay with four first-team selections.
Amari Houston earned a spot in the outfield, and
Charlie Johnson was selected as a pitcher. The two first-team at-large spots both went to Seawolves.
Kaiya Dickens and
Sophia Newcomb each collected all-conference honors for the first time in their career.
Cal State San Marcos placed three on the first team. San Francisco State also had a pair of selections.
Ten of the 17 first-teamers were repeat All-CCAA selections. Cal State San Marcos
Paige Donnelly, San Francisco State’s
Kai DeLeon, and Tosi each collected All-CCAA honors for the fourth time in their career, as did CSUSM’s
Savannah Coyle.
