22 scoreless innings earns Pioneers’ Marissa Quintero FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week Apr 21, 2025 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal State East Bay’s Marissa Quintero has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 14-20. The sophomore right-hander went the distance in two extra-inning shutouts that resulted in a pair of 1-0 wins for first-place Cal State East Bay. For the week, Quintero went 2-0 without allowing a run in 22 innings. She gave up only six hits and struck out nine. In Friday’s late game, Quintero pitched all 10 innings, allowing only one hit in a 1-0 shutout. She retired 16 straight batters, and no runner advanced past second base. In the series finale, Quintero threw all 12 innings to once again earn a 1-0 shutout. She struck out five and allowed only five hits. The victories allowed Cal State East Bay to clinch a spot in the CCAA Softball Tournament and extend their lead in the standings to three games with four games remaining. Quintero now leads the CCAA with a 1.23 and a .184 opponent batting average. Her 16 wins rank second in the conference, and her 81 strikeouts rank fourth.
