With a pair of complete game wins, Kadence Nulick of Cal State Monterey Bay has earned this week’s nod as the FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Nulick tossed two full games to lead the Otters over Northwest Nazarene and No. 12 Western Washington. She allowed just one earned run in 14 innings of work, gave up eight hits and struck out seven. The GNAC opponents batted just .157 against Nulick.
The freshman from Madera, Calif., matched her career-high seven strikeouts in Wednesday’s start versus Northwest Nazarene. In the Otters’ 3-1 win, Nulick yielded just five hits and one earned run for the victory. She retired 14 of the first 15 batters in the game. Against the 12th ranked Vikings of WWU on Friday, Nulick threw a three-hitter and gave up an unearned run in the 2-1 CSUMB upset win. After WWU scored on an error in the second, Nulick retired 10 straight and 15 of the next 16 batters to secure the win.
Nulick is among the top 10 CCAA leaders in opposing batting average (t-9th, .252) and ERA (2.54). Click here to see the CCAA stats leaderboard.
