Cal State Dominguez Hills is coming off its best season in program history, and one of the best in the last 15 years in the CCAA. The Toros went 30-6 and 20-2 in the CCAA in 2024-25. They won the conference's regular season and tournament titles before securing the program's first NCAA West Regional Championship. CSUDH would add two upset wins at the Elite Eight to reach the national championship game against the No. 1 team in the country, Nova Southeastern.

Cal Poly Pomona went 18-11 last season with a 13-9 record in conference play, earning the No. 5 seed in the CCAA Tournament. The Broncos will bring back three starters and six of their top 9 scorers. Last season, CPP led the CCAA in bench scoring with 23.9 points per game.

Cal State San Bernardino put together a strong regular season before making a strong postseason run. The Coyotes went 23-12 and placed third in the CCAA standings with a 14-8 record. They won games in the CCAA Tournament and at the NCAA West Regional. CSUSB will have five new starters for the 2025-26 season.

Chico State is another team that will have a whole new set of starters on the court compared to the one they had at the NCAA West Regional. The Wildcats went 24-7 (19-3 CCAA) in 2024-25, finishing second in the CCAA standings. They reached the conference tournament championship match and earned an at-large bid to the regional. However, all five starters left via graduation or transfer, giving the Wildcats a whole new starting lineup in 2025-26.

Cal State LA received the remaining first-place vote and 96 points to finish fifth in the poll. The Golden Eagles are just two years removed from earning the No. 1 seed in the NCAA West Regional. Last year, they finished 12-17 and 10-12 in the CCAA. This year, there will be a full new set of starters on the courts as the Golden Eagles graduated all five starters from 2024-25.

Cal State East Bay will bring back three starters to a team that went 11-17 (9-13 CCAA) last season. The Pioneers averaged 70.5 points per game and were one of the top free throw shooting teams in the conference, ranking third in attempts (20.6) and makes per game (14.5). CSUEB was also second in steals per game (9.5).

Stanislaus State returns experience up front and in the backcourt with three returning starters. Last season, the Warriors placed 10th in the final standings. The coaches are expecting a better season from Stan State as they were picked seventh in the 2025-26 poll.

Cal Poly Humboldt reached the CCAA Tournament semifinals last season but will have to reload after losing all five starters to graduation or the transfer portal. Last season, the Lumberjacks posted an 18-11 record, their best since 2015-16.

Cal State San Marcos, Cal State Monterey Bay, San Francisco State, and UC Merced rounded out the bottom third of the poll.
