CSUDH's Mariah Ramirez collects second CCAA Pitcher of the Week award

For the second time in three weeks, Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Mariah Ramirez has been named the CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week (April 1-7). 

Ramirez threw two complete games to help lead the Toros to a series victory over San Francisco State. The right-hander went 14 innings, allowing 12 hits and just two earned runs (three total). She struck out 12 and issued just one walk. 

In the series opener, Ramirez gave up only an unearned run and six hits while striking out seven to lead her team to a 2-1 win. She followed up on Saturday with another complete game, two-run performance. 

The La Habra native leads the CCAA and ranks 11th in NCAA Div. II with 16 wins. She is also sixth in ERA (2.34) and second in strikeouts (116). Click here to see the CCAA player leaderboard

Ramirez won her first career CCAA Pitcher of the Week honor on Mar. 25 after her standout performance in the Tournament of Champions. Click here to see the complete list of CCAA Softball weekly award winners.  

This week, CSUDH will play six games against PacWest opponents. It will host Concordia on Tuesday, April 9, before playing a split four-game series against Biola on April 11-13.
