Gomez broke the 11-year-old Cal State San Marcos school record in the long jump at 22-9 (6.93 meters) – beating out Michael Anastasia's 2013 record of 22-8 (6.91m). Gomez's mark moved the junior from San Jose to seventh on the 2024 CCAA Performance List.
