Heptathlete Grace Kasberger of Cal Poly Humboldt wins CCAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week award

Grace Kasberger of Cal Poly Humboldt has been voted as CCAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, for the week of April 8-14.

Kasberger hit a NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the heptathlon by scoring 4,755 points at the competitive Bryan Clay Invitational over the weekend. Her points total is a career best and a 174-point improvement from her previous provisional mark total.

During the two-day event, the junior from Prineville, Ore., finished third in her group at the Bryan Clay Invitational with personal best results in the 100-meter hurdles (15.07), shot put (11.57m) and 800 meters (2:20.71).  

Kasberger is now the CCAA leader in the heptathlon, ahead of reigning conference champion Morgann Wilson, of Cal State San Marcos, by 590 points. Kasberger won the CCAA title in 2022 and finished second a year ago. Click here to see the 2024 CCAA Performance List

Cal Poly Humboldt’s destination this weekend is Ashland, Ore., where the Lumberjacks take part in the Raider Invitational, hosted by Southern Oregon.
