Toros’ win streak reaches 13 as Jay Ross earns Softball Player of the Week Mar 4, 2024 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Jay Ross has been named the CCAA Softball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 26-Mar. 3. Ross led the Toros (13-3, 10-0 CCAA) to a pair of victories on the road against preseason favorites Sonoma State to extend the team’s winning streak to 13 games. The Whittier, Calif., native hit .625 as she collected hits in five of her eight at-bats. She added two doubles, a home run, five RBI and a run scored. In a 5-4 win to open the series, Ross went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. She followed it up with a four-RBI game in the series finale, where she went 2-for-4 with a run scored. The senior utility player leads the CCAA with a .478 batting average and is seventh with a .529 on-base percentage. Click here to see the CCAA player leaderboard.
